01 November 2009 - I'm working on some changes behind the scenes. Please bear with me as I prep ATLGospel to (once again) make use of the WordPress platform. Once complete, the look and feel of the site will be (admittedly) totally different lol, but the functionality will be greatly increased (not to mention, content). | SjB
The Promised One production runs December 17-19 (2009). This is a wonderful retelling of the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, set to music. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll definitely enjoy this production put on by Morris Brown College alumni in conjunction with First Iconium Baptist Church in Atlanta.
Yours truly, serves as the music director and (depending on what night you come) you may also see me playing a distinct character. Get your tickets!!!

14 September 2009 - Whether you're watching TV, listening to the radio or Twittering, there seems to be an undercurrent of HATE in one form or another.
What happened to agreeing to disagree? Are we just passionate about healthcare or is there something else going on? Okay, so you don't agree with the president's policies. Is that reason to pray for his demise?
I accept Racists and Satan Worshipers are hateful people but when a Pastor of an alleged Christian church (Baptist at that) uses words like "Hate" and "Kill" that gives me pause.
For those who label themselves as Christians, you are essentially saying you are a follower of Christ, but can you truly be a Christian if you don't follow Christ's single biggest commandment, LOVE? For those who follow the tenets of Christianity, we are commanded to love one another. This is mentioned many times in the Bible. I don't know how one could ignore that and still call themselves a Christian.
We're designed in different color skins. We have differing cultures, dialects, backgrounds, but we're all human. We are all God's creation. I'm not always enthused about different cultures but I still respect their right to exist. Truthfully, if you look hard enough, you'll discover we're more alike than different. It takes more energy to be mean.
To quote the words of an old song - "Put a little love in your heart and the world will be a better place..."

01 July 2009 - Lately, any little thoughts I've had, I've expressed on my Twitter page. It doesn't mean I won't be updating this section. After all, Twitter can only convey messages with 140 characters at a time. I actually have a whole lot more to say. I just haven't been told to say it, yet.
04 May 2009 - Question: How can we thoroughly and accurately judge a matter, when we don't have complete knowledge of the matter at hand? Alternatively, how can we make a just judgment call on the ways of an individual when we don't have a complete understanding of God's creation?
1 Corinthians 13:8-10 [New Living Translation] - /8/ Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! /9/ Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! /10/ But when full understanding comes, these partial things will become useless.

29 April 2009 - They thought they got over on me, stripping me of my finance. They exercised the power they assumed they had to knock the wind out of my sails. Sure, I developed some tears and I've cried some nights but I've got a Hero in Jesus, and his power eclipses that of any superhero. Since he created the night and the day, it was no problem for him to swoop in and save the day.
It was God who was providing for me all along. My job was just the instrument he used to provide finance and food. When one instrument breaks, he's got plenty more.
Because of his divine power and favour, I've never had to go a night hungry. I still have a place to lay my head. My bills are being met. I've got clothes old and new to wear.
Despite our present storm, we have so much to be thankful for. Do not despise the storm. Rather, ask God to temper it. Not every storm is the same. You might be experiencing a little rain in your life while someone else may be dealing with hail, thunder or even worse, tornadoes. God allows us to have storms so that we may appreciate the sun and the Son.
You may weep tears of sorrow right now, but God is gonna wipe those away. As Reverend Timothy Wright used to say, Trouble Don't Last Always.
17 April 2009 - He took a liar, a cheater, filthy scum like me and JUSTIFIED me. If that isn't something to celebrate then what is?
Though we all deserve death and hell, God has given us the opportunity for life with him after we leave this world. Why would you gamble and miss an opportunity at that? Choose life.
07 April 2009 - Ode to Today: This is the day that the Lord has made, from the shiny sun to the hazy greys, from warm nights to glacier days, it's a blessing just to get up anyway. So when you consider fussing about today, remember yesterday could've been your last day.
31 March 2009 - Well, don't ask me how, but somehow I successfully screwed up my WordPress blog which I had been using for the last year. I mean, it was in such bad shape, I had no choice but to remove the whole thing (and that was a lot of work down the drain).
Oh well, life goes on, and fortunately I have this old design to fall back on while I regroup and ponder the direction of this site.
Lately, there seems to be a lot of things I'm trying to find resolutions on. Perhaps, I'll save that for another entry.
Oh, I have a Twitter account now. I just added it today. Yet another needless thing in my life, but hey everybody else is doing it so I might as well jump off the bridge with the them. After all, the angels will protect me lest I dash my head upon a stone.
